CoffeeCup Software, Inc. was founded in 1996, but the roots of our name
and personality go back a bit further. Here is how it all started:
Our founder, Nick Longo opened a Coffee House called The Raven & the Sparrow with Free Internet access in 1994. People would come by, order a Cappuccino and surf the Web (which was quite new at the time). As more people were exposed to the Internet, more people wanted to be a part of it. They would ask Coffee House employees how to make Web pages and get 'online'. Being a computer junkie and having made the Website for the Coffee House, Nick soon found out that the software available at the time was not up to the task of making good Web pages. He found a local programmer to help him make something better and within a few weeks the first version of our HTML Editor was born. He already had the www.coffeecup.com domain name for the Coffee House Website, so he just stuck with it, hence, the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. He posted the software on the Website and it was an instant hit. People from all over the world were e-mailing praise and downloading the program. Before long, people started sending money to pay for the software......

What we have done for society: Our goal at CoffeeCup Software is to make your life easier and more successful. Providing our users with great, affordable software is just one part of our culture. CoffeeCup Software has made a continuing effort to provide help to many causes. CoffeeCup provides discounted software to schools, the disabled and those in need. In the past we have collected 7 tons of goods for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, raised over 1 million dollars for September 11th support agencies and collected over $50,000 for Tsunami victims. CoffeeCup Software has enriched the lives of millions of people worldwide. We are very proud.

About the Website
As you may have noticed we have some nifty tricks on the site too. We are using some creative XHTML, CSS, Flash, JavaScript, and other great technologies to make it all happen. If you look at the source code of our site you will see text links instead of images for our main navigation.

About the Hardware
We use the RedHat Enterprise Server operating system on all our servers. The Website lives behind a nice Cisco Firewall on a set of load balanced Dell servers with dual 2.4 Ghz processors and 2GB of Ram each. We also have a development server, a staging server, a dedicated database server for MySQL with 4GB of RAM, and a backup server running a MySQL replicant.
